OE6 Problem in Replying/Forwarding Emails

Can any one help with this query. I have IE8 and OE6 working fine, but when I open an email and selct Reply or Forward, I get a blank content page with just the address and subject bars at the top. There is no sign of the original message, so i am not able to edit or change it.
However, If I don't open the email and then select Reply or Forward, I get the usual message come up as per normal, ready for passing on and I can edit or change it without problem.
Any help would be much appreciated.
