OEM Software?

We've all gotten ads for OEM software -- stuff that comes without the documentation, manuals, boxes, etc.
Besides the questionable ethicalness of using it and the inability to register the software for updates, patches, etc., is there any other reason NOT to use OEM software for the really expensive stuff you couldn't otherwise afford?

It is not unethical to use OEM software. MS packages and licences an OEM version of XP.

A true OEM version does not come with "crapware". However, some manufacturers do take the OEM version and add their "crap" to it (then called a system restore disk). I hate system restore disks as it does take a lot of work to get rid of the junk (as pointed out in earlier post). I threw away the system restore disks that came with my machine and loaded up an OEM that is legal and paid for :)
