    Wohoo! :D

Having the first proper Indian curry tonight! *drooool*

(you can't get a proper curry in sweden....)

Will meet some dear friends and family. See you in a little over a week! :)

Don't forget to water the MG-plants, especially the Begonia looked a little sad the other day, and now with spring approaching they need more water. And collect the empty cans for the garbage man, he comes on Wednesday!

In an Aussie burger with the lot, beetroot is optional. Usually a slice about 2-2½ inches across and less than a ¼ inch thick, as well as salad, pineapple, tomato, onion, bacon, egg, cheese, a beef pattie, etc., on a decent bun. Not those horrible buns that are foisted on us in USA originated fast food joints. Bazza

Oh my that sounds wonderful, except the burger :D and maybe the egg:( Try not to eat fast food. not long ago had company and they insisted on this old style drive in place, well everyone was soo sick, spent the next day on or over the toilet.

I wondered what made an Aussie-burger 'Aussie' for a long time. Then I finally asked, and yup, it is basically a cheeseburger with a slice of Beetroot (Beet) in it. It actually tastes okay :drool .

I figured that most Australian salads have Beetroot included with it, so it makes it kind of Australian, I guess.

    Well, after all, you only rent E.Coli . . . ;)

Actually, I've never had a problem like that with fast food - used to eat it all the time when single . . . could be my alcohol intake pretty much killed any nasties in the food.:D

Back in Sweden again! Can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight, that is the biggest drawback of travelling... First 2 nights we stayed at my auntie Bridget's in London on air mattresses in the lounge. When I went to bed I was "airborne", when I woke up, I was on the floor... Next day my uncle went and bought a double air mattress. That was like sleeping in a water bed I imagine, whenever my hubby moved, I bounced for 10 minutes before it settled.. :D

Currys were lovely! Had a proper fish'n chips as well, and bangers and mash one evening, but most of my food was proper "english" curry! ;) Damn, I'm going to miss them! :( You can't get a good takeaway of any sort here, and no decent curry...

London a few days, and in Reading the rest of the time.

Didn't see any castles this time... But with the gorgeous weather, we made sure to go for long walks along the Thames and watch the locks and the birds. Saw some fantastic houses that could qualify as castles! I'll post piccies as soon as I have them sorted, they won't be so good, because all I had was the mobile. They might come out ok though, that little thing is a far better camera than it is a phone... :)

That aussie burger sounds delicious, can you email me one, please? :drool

PS: I forgot the slice of Pineapple, too. :D

I'm feeling a bit devilish in this post. It's number 666.

Beets? Must be an ausie thing.

Me, I like 2 patties, swiss cheese, cheeder cheese, mushrooms, lotsa bacon, lettice, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and just a little yellow mustard. Hmmmm...

Of course, my arteries will clog soon,

I recognise the walkway along the Thames in Henley. Those houses on the banks are expensive and one notable is Paul Daniels somewhere near Wargrave. I used to live in the area before job moved me away.

Black swans are common in Western Australia (Australia's largest state).
It is the WA state emblem, I think.

Phantom will confirm this I hope. ;) Bazza

Thanks! :) And thank you so much for making me feel so welcome back! http://web.comhem.se/solange/smileys/hug.gif

Yes, I have heard black swans are common in Australia. I've also heard there are some in the southern parts of Sweden, but this was my first one, looked a little spooky! :)

  35. Phantom

    Phantom Brigadier Britches

True on both counts, Bazza. I did think they were unique to Western Australia, or that's what we get told. I believe some have been introduced to the U.K. and some countries in Europe. Not sure whether the ones in southern Sweden are native or introduced.

They are the largest type of water fowl.

EDIT:- Seems I was right about them being introduced into Sweden.

    http://birding.about.com/od/birdsswans/a/blackswan.htm

But wrong about them being unique to W.A., although they are much more numerous here.

I'ved lived in Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory. I've visited the other states, and ACT.

I was always under the impression that they were only in WA. Just goes to show.

    Interesting Birding link, too.;) Bazza
