I've upgraded from Office XP to 2003. Now I appear to have a very large file on my hard drive that I didn't have w/ Office XP. Question is: What is it and how do I remove it? I relatively certain it's associated w/ an Office 2003 setting, but don't know what the setting is or how to get rid of it.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

What is the name of that file, including the filename extension?

The file name is 'hiberfil.sys'. It's about 2.6 GB in size and it's only on my desk top machine. I have a laptop w/ the same software installed and it's not on the laptop.
    Any ideas?

the file you refer to is a hibernation file windows xp take a snapshot of your pc settings and software for when it goes into hibernation mode as a backup. it is normally located in your c drive.
try this and see if it removes the file,go into the control panel and double click on power options, select hibernation and deselect the " enable hibernation support " check box, press apply close out then restart your computer the hiberfil.sys file should automatically disappear. good luck

This is a system-generated file, used by Windows for hibernation control.HIBERFIL.SYS is a file the system creates when the computer goes into hibernation mode. Windows uses the file when it is turned back on. If you don't need hibernation mode and want to delete the file you need to turn the hibernation option off before Windows will allow you to delete the file...

Start > Control Panel > Power Options

    Go to the Hibernate Tab
Uncheck the Enable Hibernation box if you don't want the hibernation function

Click Apply and the hiberfil.sys file will be automatically deleted.
