Pretty sure info is on this site, just can't find it.
    How/where do I find/download MS office for Win 7?
I googled and found one site asking $85, one that says it is a free download, and another (I haven't read) warning about downloading Office for Win 7.
MS getting stingy with including Office with W7?:(

No, they actually have become affordable.

It has never been free; but there are alternatives.

    Open Office
    Kingsoft Office
    Google Apps
    Office Online

I think you are refering to MS Office 2010 Starter Edition which was made available only to OEMs for preloading on Windows PCs. It was ad-supported and included basic/crippled versions of Word and Excel. Also, it installed as a virtual application.

Give WPS Office (previously Kingsoft Office) a try. It's a 61 MB download and includes Writer, Spreadsheets and Presentation. It's no longer a Beta version.

    HI

Also depends what you want out of Office as with a Microsoft account, Hotmail, Live, Outlook, MSN etc you get FREE albeit limited Office online apps, but to be honest they are ok for basic stuff and I have used them to do minor edits to docs or create a basic framework of a doc,

Links with OneDrive so you can "cloud" your files also.

Sadly Office is not a free download unless your OEM has included it in the PC/Laptop specs, you can get trial of Office and Office 365 as I think Adry was inferring too is at a great price point for what you get, I will end up going that way once the next Office version is released, currently on 2013 myself.

Another vote for WPS Office. The 2015 version is a trial with some "special features." But it reverts to the free version after 30 days (if you don't buy it, of course).

My wife has OpenOffice and uses it a lot. I find WPS to be more intuitive and more like Word.

I must give WPS Office a go, seems good reviews and good personal opinions on this software, just need to make sure its saved formats are really 100% compatible with MS Office formats, .docx, .pptx, .xlsx etc

    Dag nab it, another glitch

Got Win 7 Office (Word) set up
Entered info on blank page, changed to Landscape format, selected print.
Insert comes up stating my PDF is ready. Print job will not start unless this is selected.
Print job comes out in Portrait format
Went back, started again and selected Landscape, then sent to printer, and encountered same sequence (PDF) and again got finished print job in Portrait format.
It sure would be nice for once to sit down at this computer, set up for whatever and proceed expeditiously to end. I spend more time here trying to find problem solutions than I do actually performing a task

Check your printer properties. Under Preferences, change it to Landscape. The default is usually Portrait.

Got it changed, printed job, switched back to portrait format . Next print job also printed in landscape,
Canceled print job, reset as new print job in portrait format. Printed correctly.
It would seem that there is a lag in printer getting changes. At this rate I
will be wasting a lot of paper if I have numerous jobs requiring format changes

Can you be clear on what version you have? "MS office for Win 7" and "Office (Word) for Win 7" are not versions of MS Office. Microsoft never made a version of Office especially for Windows 7 or any other version of Windows. All versions of MS Office can be used to different versions of Windows, within limits. For example, I have MS Office 2007 Professional installed on a Win 7 desktop system and a laptop running Win 8.1. A history of version can be seen at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Microsoft_Office
