For some reason PowerPoint & Excel now have broken icons (desktop shortcuts). Word's is fine. Any idea why the icon would do this? I even deleted the desktop shortcut and made another one and the image was broken. The shortcut still work fine to open the program.

I'm not sure I know what this means. :confused Do you mean the actual pictures of the blue W for Word or the green X for Excel are messed up? If you open up your Office folder in Program Files, is the icon for WINWORD.EXE normal? What about EXCEL.EXE?

Sorry I wasn't clear. But yes the blue w and such were missing. I put the instal disc in and ran a repair and it fixed everything. Thanks for your time.

Glad you fixed this already, yes Office reapir function is good in many cases, but to the reason of my post even though you have already fixed it, is to why this could happen, well many reasons and one main one is if you installed another office type application, the file types could have been associated with the other applicaion, this application then gets removed and the associations are not returned leaving the icon with no image.

Or could just be a one off quirk!!! or due to running a cleaner/registry application.
