I had Win7 with Office 2010, and upgraded end of last year successfully to Win10.
I had a PC crash and a repair shop installed a new SDD C drive, and installed Win10.
I now can't install my Office 2010 on this, any ideas?

I am no expert, but have you tried following these intstructions. I have also read that you need to have all of the service packs installed for it to work. I also read that you'll need to call Microsoft to be able to transfer the product key from the old Windows install to the new one.

Thanks, will try later after work (and report back). Service packs for what, win10, surely it should be up-to-date? Call Microsoft, could be difficult as it is a corporate version from work, which I have permission to use, but am not the holding owner!?

There is no service pack in either Win 8.1 or Win 10.
If you have the product key for your work-based purchased Office suite, then install it as new.
If it is an enterprise edition of Office, just speak to that company's Network Administrator.
That repair shop should have imaged your old drive first by the way. They should have saved all data.

Thanks, but these responses don't help.
When I try to install on this PC with Win10, it says, "This App can't run on your PC"...simple...can't install...that's why i posted.
How can I install service packs for office prior to actually installing the software, or is this a complete red herring?!
How does an image of my original drive help me?
Do I clean my PC, re-install win& & Office 2010, then upgrade to Win10, or is that free upgrade now expired?

What type of media are you using to install Office 2010 and do you have the correct product key?
When if fails to install is that the sole and exact verbatim error message, if not post a close screenshot of it.
MS Office 10 is certainly compatible with Win 10, according to MS, but the net is full of posts from people facing your issue.
Additional possible issues that occur to me are the nature of the license for the Office software, since it isn't yours as such - as you said earlier - and has already been activated on your old HD. May or may not not be relevant.

Windows 10 will have activated on your old hard drive and should have automatically activated on the new one; but, Microsoft released a major update (948MB) in November which needs to be installed; but, may not have been, depending on the media the service guys used.
I have personally installed at least 15 copies of Office 2010 on Windows 10 PC's and, excepting the need to use phone activation on a few of them, they have all gone in without a hitch. None of them; though, were Enterprise versions.
Personally; I'd be suspicious of the Windows 10 installation done by the repair shop.

Its in a folder on another HDD. That's the first line of the error message, after i click on the setup.exe. The other is "To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher."
It goes no further. IMO this software should be usable on any new HDD.
Ok, a different angle, say the PC repairer didn't install my windows, and used some other copy of win10. Should the SN of my win0, be the same as my old Win7? How do i tell? And would this affect it it, if he used some other copy?

Copy the folder to the new SSD.

Ok, first lets get things a little friendlier....
Do Start -> Settings -> Personalization -> Themes -> Desktop Icon Settings and then check all of the boxes and back out.
Then, right-click on This PC and choose Properties.
In the windows which appears, the version should match your key printed on the bottom except it should say 10 instead of 7 (i.e. a Windows 7 Home premium sticker should say Windows 10 Home in the system properties) If it doesn't match, the shop used a different version of Windows 10 and we really ought to start over from scratch.
From your description; though, the installation files for Office 2010 are on another PC located on the office network so what they gave you was the customized setup to pull the actual installation files across the network.

At work now, will try this later. Can I change the win10 s/n in some way if it wrong? My office 2010 is on another HDD within same PC.

Not if they installed the wrong version. To fix version problems, you have to start from scratch again; but, its usually far easier than most people think...
When you say "My office 2010 is on another HDD within same PC", what do you mean by that? If you mean the installation files, then you need to make sure that drive is the same letter the installer wants it to be using disk management. If you mean the program files, that won't do us any good. The installer also copies files to the Windows folder and has all of the registry entries to make it work; the program files don't.
