is there a way to optimize office? i have office 2003 pro, and it can be quite slow. epsecially when clicking on a link (say from an update email sent from this site) it can delay a few seconds or even require two clicks to get MSIE to open (doesnt change when i use FF)...

just wondering if there was something i can do in general. also when it finally does open, i have to maximize MSIE..is there a way to make sure its always maximized, lik ein the registry, etc?

What are you PC specs, CPU, RAM and Operating System used etc

    Have you defragged of late?

To get a window, wether that is IE or Office to open maximized open only one window/app and manually drag the window to the full size of the screen then hold CTRL down and click the Red X of the window to close then open up the app again and the OS should have remembered your setting ( if not do it again )

I'd also make sure you have all the updates for Office.

Specs of PC are fine for office, have you defragged?

also and just a thought, turn off your AntiVirus program and see if Office components start quicker?

i dont have AV because in years of computer work ive never gotten a virus (spyware yes) and AV tends to screw up more than fix that ive seen.

but i defrag about 1-2 times per week wether i need it or not, im just kinda anal like that.

its not a HUGE delay but im kinda impatient...how about the MSIE window starting maximized?

its the time that it takes from clicking on a link in the office till the time MSIE opens that pisses me off...
