a strange thing happened this morning for no apparent reason.

i opened Office Outlook to read /reply to E-mails all was OK did the job and closed it, about 3hours later i wanted to send an E-mail so clicked on open and nothing so i tried again i got the hour glass to say it was loading then just stopped this happened 5 or 6 times so i rebooted and clicked open and got a message "outlook express did not open correctly the last time you can try to open in safe mode. do you want to open in safe mode and then a link.

i got it open and did what i needed to do in safe mode,i closed OE and went to other things a little later out of curiosity i tried again and it opened no problem but now remains in safe mode an i do not know how or if i need to change it???

    any help please:confused

You mention both Office Outlook and outlook express. They are not the same thing. So, which are you using? And, which version of it are you using? And, what version of Windows?

    SORRY

i installed office 2007 (legal) about 3 weeks ago so it's Microsoft Office Outlook

i am using windows XP Home SP2 (also legal)

i have not installed any thing today so it's not a rogue programme it just started out of nowhere.

I haven't had much exposure to Office 2007 yet. In Outlook 2003, I see a search on safe mode in Outlook's Help yields some info. So, I suggest you look at that.

Safe mode in Office 2007 will kick in if it things that there is an problems with any of the files, its a kind of diagnostics, if on reboot or a re-open it checks and all is ok it will go back to full mode,

BUT what you can do is to Open Outlook and click the Help Menu > Office Diagnostics > Click Continue and Start Diagnostics

Basically it will double check any possible issues if you still have any and rectify them.
