Office restarting

When I check mail, or when I get into saved folders, MS office apps seem to become ET, wanting to call home. Most annoying indeeed!

My Office 2002 apps all tried to call home at first, and I shut each of them down with my firewall set to No Outgoing; No Incoming. It just didn't make any sense to me that Word wanted to talk to Microsoft about it every time I did anything.

at what point, though, is office restarting?

 

(I think he just didn't choose his thread-title carefully. It's the ET behaviour he's complaining about.)

 

After send mail. Even with no mail sent, word crashess and Outlook is lookout.

 

Halo has a starting point. Also, see if disabling word as your default mail editor helps the situation. if it does, then we can lean towards word being an issue.

 

That repaired lost Outlook, but unable to open Word doc .

I have file called accident with claim fax info that I need to open.

No clue where disk is buried. I will get help finding over holidays.

 

search for a file called normal.dot and delete it. then try opening word again.
