A google search that gives you no hits, says it is not a legitimate windows file. Also malware tends to generate an 8 character name; probably so it can hid undetected in the windows folder. The fact that it doesn't load may signal that the malware has been removed BUT whatever wants to use this might still be on the computer.

Once he has the logs, have him start a new thread at the first link I posted. The experts will look everything over and get him cleaned up. He must be patient because not many can do that kind of log-reading so it may take several days until someone has the time to look at his logs. They will get looked at and he will have a clean computer.
