I'm going to have to jump in and learn Macromedia, specifically Dreamweaver and Flash, so I can maintain the new Crossing webpage, that, Lord willing, will be up and posted later this week. The basic site is there, all we need is some content. It looks really cool, and I can't wait to share it with everyone, and I can't wait to learn all that stuff in order to take it over from the guy who built it.

I hope I can learn quickly, but I traditionally am a slow learner. Once I got it, I got it, but it usually takes me a bit to "get it".

    Here's hopin!

Good luck! I'm learning Flash myself and what I'm doing its an absolute nightmare. You can't use tweens at all, its nearly pure actionscript (save a few animated movie-clips)

Dreamweaver is pretty easy if you know HTML :) Personally I'd write the outline of the page myself and then use Dreamweaver to put the bells and whistles on, particularly useful for text formatting (you can switch it to be XHTML 1.0 compatible, too)

You have a head start on me, I don't even know what tweens are.

    I don't. :(

Again, I don't even know what this means.....I have a long way to go. But, that's the school of life, isn't it! :)

Doh! Guess I have got the headstart!

A great resource for building websites is www.webmonkey.com. They've stopped updating it now, but the archive is staying there permenantly. Its a fantastic resource for HTML, flash, Dreamweaver, everything you might possibly want to know about Web developement! :)

And a word of advice : don't try to do dynamic navigation with Flash, or you'll be singing the last line of your sig ;)

I can't wait til Eric gets it up and running, because what is already there is SO BEAUTIFUL! Hopefully Eric won't have to change much. It's just that it's empty of info at this point, but they want to have it up and running before they go on tour.

BTW, I'll be going to the Haddon Heights, NJ show for sure (probably with most of my family as well) It's only 30 minutes from my parent's house. HEY FRAZZLED!!! This one isn't far from you! Has anyone seen ol' Fraz? Probably busy with the new baby :)

Do you plan to completely revamp the entire site, or just maintain the same style it has right now?

I tend to check into the site once every couple of weeks to see what kind of tours may be in the works, and I now see that it has a black background instead of the white. When did that happen.

This one is a completely different site. One of the Grrr Girls mentioned that they needed to give the site at least a little facelift since people would probably be checking it out after the shows. She did a little bit on her own before they told her that the new one had been in the works. And it is just so pretty. Has music, really nice artwork, bios on the bandmembers, a gallery, etc. Eric is going to mostly be maintaining that premade site, but there are a few things that he wants to change, hence the hinking around with it. :)

Is that new site viewable yet, or still strictly under construction?
