I was having problems geting into the Yahoo Game Room, thinking the recently installed Spybot Search@Destroy and Java Sun were the culprits I deleted them both. Well the problem still exists.

    > Next I went to http://javasun to redownload the software using the automatic downnload like I did the last time. Java couldn't perform the download because of some "issue" but the "issue" is never stated.

    >Next I tried to use my Windows XP CD to install my original java which I also deleted. I went to START<RUN>then typed in sfc /scannow

    >This is where my problems begin. The computer asked me to insert my Windows Home Edition CD to proceed ( I can't find one). When I insert the CD,I think they are asking for, it states it's the wrong one, to insert the Tools CD,which I did then it states it's the wrong one insert the WindowsCD then the boxes freeze and nothing happens.
Below are the CD's I was issued when purchasing my computer. It's a Dell with windows xp preloaded. If someone knows which CD's I should be inserting, please help!
    CD#1>Driver and Utilities(For Reinstallin V.92(Capable)/56K Telephony
    data/Fax/Voice Modem Software for MicosoftW
CD#2>Applications(Dell Tools CD For Reinstallin Dell Installed Software
CD#3>Drivers and Utilities(Already installed on your computer)Dell Dimension Resource CDContents: Device drivers. Diagnos. Comp.Documentation
CD#4 Another Drivers and Utilities for reinstalling Device drivers etc.

****What CD should I be inserting,if I do indeed have it. What specifically should it read on the CD.
    Thanks!

    Hi BLAJY,

This is not my area of expertise, but I've got an idea or two.

--- How did you delete Sun Java? Did you use Add or Remove Programs? If you did, then all of the files should still be on your computer and you should be able to track them down and reinstall them.
Now, if you went through and manually deleted them all, that's another story!

Just an idea - As I say, I ain't the brightest bulb in the box. I'm sure others in this forum will know better how to address your problem.

    Best :)

*** BTW - the CD you're looking for is not a Dell CD but The Microsoft Windows XP CD that should have been included with your machine. It would come in its own cardboard-backed and shrinkwrapped package.

Hey Phillie, or anyone else who feels to jump in.

    > As far as not being the brightest, you sure seem to be doing o.k. by me, eventhough none of your suggestions seem to be helping. ;) :) Just teasing.

    > I did a search found over 83 files. One labeled JavaSoft is this the one? None were labeled Sun Java. Some are just labeled java. If my original java is in the files from microsoft do I still need to insert the cd, or can I do it from the file directory? Next question is how? LOL. Can't find that windows CD, I think my son hid it on me, because everytime I try to help with things I just keep making it worse!

    > After I deleted from the add and remove program, I think I may have deleted the file also from the search.

    > How does one determine what java (crap) files I can delete, ;) which ones to keep? After all there were 83 files found in all. LOL

    >This question relates to the Yahoo Game Rooms. When I tried to gain access I clicked on the eye again in the toolbar, it says a certain cookie is blocked, that is prohibiting me from gaining access. I changed the security settings, and also clicked on accept all cookies from this page. Still nothing any suggestions on this one?

******Thanks for all your help! Maybe someday I'll be able to throw a few suggestions your way :) ******

I hope the sweep, because my son is not cutting his hair until it's over. He looks like a throwback from the sixties. Thanks Pedro and Damon.

O.K., I may be onto something.

    > I went to START>My Computer>Local Disk Drive>Program Files.

    > There is a file for Java & Java Soft.

    > Are these the files I need to download Microsoft Java again?

    > How do I move these to the Add/Remove Program?

    > Do I have to download both or just Java?

    > Thanks again!

Good job! Happy to see you worked it out. Now, maybe you can watch the game in peace - though I doubt your son will be cutting his hair any time soon! :p
