If my processor is listed as such:

    External Clock: 533MHz
    Maximum Clock: 3600MHz
    Current Clock: 2400MHz
    Voltage: 1.1V

Does this mean that I am not running it at its optimal settings? I question this because it says that maximum clock is 1200MHz higher than my current clock. I apologize for my lack of understanding, but this is how I learn.

    Thanks for any help!:)

External clock is the Front Side Bus (FSB), it is running at 2.4Ghz, but can be maxed out at 3.6Ghz. In order to change it, along with Voltage, you may have to move some jumpers on the Motherboard.

What Brand is the Motherboard, and Processor?

Not just that, but cooling will be an issue to.

    post some specs please,

    what processor is it?
    desktop/laptop?
where are you getting these readings from, the bios or within windows?

Thanks for the responses. Hopefully my information below will help. Mind you all, I do not use this for any hardcore gaming (only Starcraft). It is my understanding that one can recieve items from the factory that are not tuned to their optimal performance and I figure if it can be better and faster, why not? I have attached my Everest report, hopefully this will help. Nevermind, cannot get it to upload. I appreciate the help.

I am going to say that the max to Overclock is 3.6Ghz. It is running at what the processor comes out of the box as, so just remember if you Overclock, you may have to change out the cooling system on the processor.

keep in mind you can damage your computer by doing that. also if you check the overclocking section ace256 made a good post on how to do it.

hang on a sec, the celeron 320 is only rated at 2.4Ghz according to intel(533*18). Celerons run at 533Mhz fsb, so your computer may be thinking that if it uses the pentium 4 bus of 800Mhz fsb it can get 3600 Mhz. If you are thinking of doing this, the chances are you will seriously fry the chip.

As much as I would like to try and do it just to see if I could, I will pass until I get another computer. This one will then become my "learning and practicing" system. I will put more thought into my next order.

Thanks to all for the information.

    Celeron's are very overclockable.

Having said that, and each to their own, I don't see the point in overclocking.

Once you spend the money and time, it's easier just to get a faster processor.
