ok laptop dvd wont playmovies

    ok so I have searched and cant find anything close on this one so bear with me, Thanks. I have an IBM r31 laptop with a dvd-rom in it . can read from cd-roms fine. can read from dvd-roms fine. can play audio cd's fine. I use wmp for now and have the nvidia dvd decoder installed. here's the rub... on some dvd's I can get the menu to come up and then no movie... have also tried other players like intervideo and interactual. dvd is a toshiba gds200... um what other info helps? thanks all!

    Best guess is there is an issue with the decoder card. Which is quite common if you run windows XP since decoder cards are kinda old and many times the drivers for them don't work with XP. Anything above about 300mhz can play back DVD's just fine using a software decoder. For example powerDVD.
