also how can I make it so that when I type in a search string in the address bar it comes up with google results not the page it thinks i want?

    "Firebird" do you mean Firefox?

I too was a MYIE2 user and recently downloaded Firefox. Anyway, the extensions that I have a All-in-one Gestures and Single Window.

My version of Firefox has a Google search text field next to the address field and typing in there gives a Google search.

If you type "G" then a space then your search text it will perform a google search. You can replace the G with Z for Amazon, Y for Yahoo etc etc

Also have DownloadGet to use your preffered download manager and ieView for those pages that must require Internet Explorer to view.

My bad. I think you need a plug-in to do it in Firefox. Im testing Opera and FF at the moment, i get the two mixed up :( Opera does it natively though

Looks as though in order to use Windows Update you need a browser that can use ActiveX, e.g., Internet Explorer or MYIE2, unless there is a special FireFox extension :(

I've also downloaded the following extensions: Sort Bookmarks; ZoomIn and Dictionary Search.

Just having great fun playing with FireFox...

That happens to be the only reason why i bother keeping IE.

    Don't forget tabbrowser extentions...

We miss you in the lounge.

One more thing, would you happen to know how I can right click on something highlighted and copy to another document without going to the toolbar?

Not sure, what you are asking. When I right-click I get a menu that includes copy. Also, you can use the keyboard short-cut Ctrl-C.

I'm stumped on that because it seems to work for me... If it's a link that you want to copy click "copy link location". I still don't know why they have it as copy link location rather than copy link, but it pretty much just copies the link.

I like TabBrowser Extensions as mentioned in an earlier post.
Here's a Download Managers FAQ7How-to. Gives you instructions on most of the managers out there.

I got it fleabag. I had to uninstall the Mouse Gestures extension in order to get the right click to work. Finally!!! Thanks for your help everyone.

    Extentions I use:
    Tabbrowser Extentions -- Amazing
    All-in-One Gestures -- Awesome
ieView -- Pretty good for those sites still stuck in Gatesland.
Adblock -- Meh. Generally not worth the hassle anymore, IMO.
DownloadWith -- 'cause I like GetRight.
Web Developer -- Mmmm... cruchy tools and widgets.

    Themes:
Qute -- Because the 0.9.x FF default sucks.

After downloading & installing it, it can be viewed or hidden under the "View" on the toolbar.
