Ok, what did I do now?!?

Ok since I set the admin password, now I cant connect to anything on the server! There is no pw to the server and I tried the one that I created - its a no go. I cant do anything! How do I fix it?

Don't know if it's the same situation or not - I had that problem once when I changed my log-in password. I had to still use my old password to access the server data, as it only recognized my old one . . .

But it sounds like there was no password before, and then you created one? I wish I was still at work - I could check some settings under computer management and see if there was a setting there that could be the problem. It may be the server has to be configured to recognize the password - ran into that situation also with a new employee.

But my problem is there is no pw to connect to the server, never was. Only since I created a pw (so noone but me had access to my computer) did it start asking me. I dont know what to do...

 

This may sound stupid (and it probably is . . . I've been up all night and am a bit muzzy) but did you try it with your user name but leaving the password field blank?

Or - have you tried going into your admin account and removing the password, and trying it again?

I'm sorry if this sounds stupid . . . these are things you more then likely have tried or decided were useless . . .

 

What is the name of your user account, dy? Do you log in at a "Welcome Screen"

If it is the latter, do you have an 'Option' field under the username and password fields?

You're welcome, my friend. I'm glad it worked - I did that once on our old server when an account password was changed. I just changed it back to the old password till I could physically access the server itself. Wasn't sure it would work if there had never been a password to begin with.
