    - I have an LCD TV upstairs and my computer is downstairs I want to have access to the TV upstairs with running the most minimal amount of wires because the ceiling is drywalled.
    - The TV has DVI and my VC has a DVI output and I currently using a CRT monitor.
    - I don't think a wireless mouse and keyboard will work because of the floor and distance.
    - I would like a wireless keyboard and mouse upstairs and just access the computer screen
    - I have a NVIDIA FX 5700 VC
    - P4 2.8 HT, 1 gig ram on MB, 250 gig HDD SATA
    - running XP home.
    - one wire would be ideal.
    - any ideas???
    - I'm not on a wireless network just regular DSL. All we need is one computer but it would be good to be able to access email and such upstairs...

    Thanks,
    Bee:confused:

I dont know if that would work on a wireless network unless you had another computer upstairs on the network that could recieve the signals and transfer them to the TV. You may be able to get a long video cable but if its a long distance the quality would most likely degrade quite quickly. Maybe someone else has ideas?

You should have no problem connecting the TV to your PC, you might want to consider putting your pc upstairs

Are you asking me? I don't know. I had to look that up. If you had a computer upstairs, then you wouldn't need wires (accept for the HDMI cable).

I think a USB keyboard and USB mouse would work, but they would have to be long. Agin, I don't much.

My RCA scenium has a remote keyboard with a mouse built in. I got it cheap on eBay. Are you using a Dell TV? I don't know if they make one for thier TV's.

I have a DVI output on my card and I want the computer to stay downstairs. I am willing to run a DVI wire upstairs but a USB cord would not work because we want wireless KB and Mouse for use on the couch. I don't want to go through the expense of buying and setting up another computer.
    - Is there any long range wireless key boards and mice?
    - It is directly above the computer (it would have to work through the ceiling)

    - Moving the PC is not an option.
    - How do I hook up the tv (I guess run a DVI cable)
    - And how would I switch between keyboards and mice without having to disconnect them?
    - Is networking the only option? Buying another compter? $$$$ I want this to be as cheap as possible...we hardly use the one here in the office. I cannot justify another one.

    - Is there any other options? Nothing that is wireless (even just the keyboard and mouse) and I'll run the DVI cable (if I can get one long enough).

    - Thanks

It may be that your pc could accept imput from two keyboard and two mouses. You may need a hub though. I know my laptop accepts an external mouse without disbling the trackpoint mouse on the keyboard.

Also, for your purposes, you may be able to buy a really old pc from ebay. A pentium II will run XP if it has at least 128MB of RAM, (pref. 512MB). I used to have a laptop like that.

Does your TV by chance have an ethernet port for internet. Mine does, but it also has a web browser.
