Old computer down...

    Can I retrieve the info from the old computer to put on my new one even tho I can`t boot it up....

    Yes. Probably the simplest way is to use a USB adapter like this to transfer the data from the old hard drive to a working computer.

    P.S. The Vantec will do something the Apricorn has trouble with. If you ever do need to hook up to an EIDE optical drive, the Apricorn gets in the way of the Molex plug. You need a custom ground to fit Molex/Adapter pair for that.

    But, I doubt you'll have that problem...
