Hi. My computer is 2 years old (Win xp pro SP3). The graphics card is ATI x1650, 256MB memory, chipset 0X71C7. I guess that this is one of the simpler versions of this card. So far I have been using a 17" Philips 107P CRT. I intend to replace it with a 22" LCD Samsung T220P monitor, resolution 1920X1200
Question 1 : Will my X1650 card support this new monitor? I use my computer for Office aplications, Photoshop, watch movies. Light gaming.
    Question 2 : Did I choose a decent monitor?
    Thanks, barelij.

My computers are more than two years old and most of them don't have a video card; I just use whatever cheap is on the motherboard. I have a 17" Samsung and a 19" wide Samsung and haven't had a problem with either.
    1. I don't expect you will have a problem.
    2. IMHO, Samsung makes the best monitors for my "senior" eyes. The text is clear (most of my computers are running 2K so I can not take advantage of MS's clear technology).

Thanks, usafveteran. The article that you mentioned reffers to a XT version of the ATI x1650. As far as I know, my card is not XT. Does it make a difference in my case ?
    Thanks again, barelij.

I've been a nVidia user for quite a long time and haven't followed the ATI series but I absolutely believe the straight X1650 will have no problem supporting that monitor. Here's some info from ATI on the x1650 series: http://ati.amd.com/products/RadeonX1650/index.html
