I have an older dual xeon server my friend gave me.. worked fine at his house.. the minute i brought it home and plugged it in the power button does nothing.. Absolutely nothing..
The light on the motherboard shines green and i unplugged all the harddrives and traced everything and it looks all good but the power button doesnt turn on the computer.. i checked the mobo for the power switch and it is connected and fine.. Any ideas why this computer wont do anything or any troubleshooting tips?

I just found a jumper sitting in the bottom of the case.. is it possible this could cause the problem and fell out of place when i was transporting?

Nevermind.. turns out that jumper was the CMOS config jumper.. little important i would say.. popped it back into pin 2-3 and it boots like a champ.. i do get a cmos checksum error tho.. guess the battery might be dieing

Are you sure that pins 2 and 3 are not the CMOS reset pins?

I was thinking the same thing.. so i shorted pins 1 and 2 and the computer wont boot to bios.. just turns on.. beeps like crazy and then reboots... Meaning it is reseting the cmos.. ever try reading a manual for a iwill dpl533 to determine jumper setting? it is like reading chinese.. so it took a little plug and chug to get it
