    Hello,

I currently have windows XP on my old hard drive and am running XP as my OS on my main drive. I want to use the old xp drive for storage. I am unable to format the drive from computer management under admin tools. It appears in Device Manager, but does not appear in Disk Management, so I am unable to do anything there.

    Please Help?

    Welcome to the forum Sobrien.

Are the HDD's IDE or SATA?

If IDE, are they on the same ribbon? If so, it may be a jumper problem or sometimes an incompatibility between two drives on the same ribbon.

    Both HDDs are SATA.
I'm not really sure why it's behaving the way that it is. It shows up in device manager and in BIOS but nowhere else, including Disk Manager, so I can't figure out how to format the drive, I just want it for storage, no OS on it, you know?

    :/
