depands on speed of memory as memory will only run at the slowest speed of a module installed,

eg. if you have say PC3500 and install a stick of PC2700 then the max speed of all modules will be PC2700

I have two gigs, but then I am running a dual proc system.
Unless you do heavy number crunching, video/audio editing
    1 gig should suffice.
