Old or New Zonealarm

I have been reading alot about Zonealarm and there is talk that the older version is better than the new one. I can get ZoneAlarm 5.5.94.0 ,does anyone know if this is better than the new version.

 

I just upgraded to version 6.1.737.000 and to be totally honest with you, I don't see any difference. I'm sure there are some differences, or it wouldn't be an upgrade, but I sure can't see it. I've been using ZA for quite some time and have never had a problem with it, nor have I ever been breached, that I know of. So, in my opinion, I'd say go for the newer version and at least you know you'll be up to date, which is a good thing nowadays!!

 

I've been using ZA for over 3 years on several rigs and only had problems with ver. 4.xx IIRC and it used to crap out because of vector issues though none since and I'm uptodate ATM.

I don't know if this applies to the free version, but the latest Security Suite has Smart Advisor and kernel level protection which earlier versions didn't.

I've been using it since it's release and so far it's been very effective.
