old printer new pc..

Hi.........am new to this.....want to use old printer for a 2nd printer (as I have lots of ink left!!)....I installed the cd....it says driver is wrong...I bought the connection so it goes into the usb slot.......its a hp 612 PRINTER...and I have a toshiba XP ..........where can I find the correct driver so I can download (I think that's what I need>????)..........so-0-0-0-0-0...thanks in advance...:wave

This is the driver you are looking for. However during my search this model of HP doesnt seem to support XP. Only 95/98 and ME, this may be why you got the driver error.

 

Thanks for the comeback............I guess I won't even bother. trying to hook it up...because of what you said about the support issue for XP........Dang!!!!

well now I found a different printer............so I'll try that.........maybe I'm kind of turned off as the connection I can't get to work............so I'm quite hopeless////////////// ............time to go south ...so maybe I'll tryn again in the spring..........thanks again for all your help

 

Keep in mind they have internet service down south too. LOL. ed

 

Guess......it's just one less thing to think about packing for now....I'll just take the printer that works..........and deal with the extra one later....but no way am I giving up on my.....Com - pew-terring...... : ()
