Anyone have some old software they just can't seem to replace? Nothing out there is as good as it?
I feel that way about a program by Micrografx called Windows Draw. I've never found another program like it:( Micrografx was bought by Corel (who also bought Ulead, another fav developer of mine), but they dropped Windows Draw. I still have my CD and a backup image of said CD god forbid I lose it!! According to Google there are a few people that feel this way about Draw.

Ahh, only the good die young, eh?

So if anyone knows of Draw or a program as good, let me hear it or just tell what software you miss:cry

DVD Fab. Tried all the free stuff, but would always run into little problems costing time, disc’s. Bought their software years ago and have never had a regret. Worth every penny, and was not much. 20 bucks at the time, I think. Never, ever had a problem with customer service reqarding problems reinstalling due to formats and new machines or anything for that matter. Ask a question or inquire about something, anything, via email, response is very quick.;)

I just got a call from a friend who got a Win 3.1 laptop that has some HVAC software he is trying to copy to a modern OS. It was written in VB3, not going easy.
I suggested virtualizing 3.1 loading Calmira for a modern looking shell. :-D

    I honestly don't blame you.

I used to have a Risk game on 3.5" floppy. I still have the disk, but no drive to run it on.

I believe I have that same game. Loved it - could multiplay this version over LAN. Risk rocks as a board game, even!

You can D/L Risk as a Free-ware game on a few sites, I believe. Good game.:)

Really Windows Draw was a lot mote than a "draw" program, it had some "print shop' elements, like cards, books, & label templates, then it had the cool text effects... it was awesome.

I miss the old "Zork Trilogy" series. The original came on 5 1/4 disks, and was DOS based. I did transfer them to 3.5 inch diskettes but When I ran my USB Disk drive to load it, Windows 7 just wouldn't let it happen. That game was pure text. Good exercise for the imagination. The new version available just isn't the same.

Borland Sidekick 2.0 - pound for pound, the best cardfile/database program ever written...so simple, infinitely customizable, very intuitive.

Unfortunately, it's gone with the wind...

Thanks for the link, Triaxx2 (I've got Sidekick 2.0 on disk and I actually use it on a couple of older 32-bit machines)...

I just love to show off. Besides, now anyone else who wants to use it can.

Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer. Too bad I don't have a COM port anymore, I could try hooking up the 5 1/4" drive with a USB adapter, and running DOSBox.

    Might be interesting...
