Old VHS home movies

Hello all,

I have a few old home movies on VHS tape and was wondering how can I copy them over to CDR (at the moment, then in the future move them to DVD) I am not quite sure on what leads,device's or software I need.

please help.

You'll need a video capture device.. be it card for inside the pc or external capture device. Then maybe some editing software to spruce it up a bit. Then Nero or Easy CD make VCDs .. a good site on authoring vcds is www.videohelp.com.
But if you pc is not fast enough, it may be cheaper to go with a stand alone vcd device like http://search.ebay.com/terapin_W0QQsojsZ1QQfromZR40
