old widows

I just upgraded to windows 7 I found to (2 ) old windows programs on my hard drive taking up a lot of room can I safely remove them

 

What kind of old windows programs are you referring to? What are they labeled as?

 

after upgrading from xp to windows 7 there are two folders on my hard drive
windows.old 18.1 gb and windows.old.000 15.2 gb

 

I would like to remove them

 

if you have made several, or more like a couple of operating system upgrades on the same computer, I would think it to be files from them. and have see things in the Add/Remove Programs to remove old files, maybe you can see something in there?
