older cpu - images not lining up?

I work part-time for an ambulance company and we recently purchased a new dell for our main computer. we are using our older HP Pavilion for our biometric time program. It has been having problems with image processing. here is the problem!!!! The images on different things are not lining up..some text is overlapping, images are offset. it does this on several things including the internet. do not know if it is a setting problem or hardware. thanks for any help

 

Hi. Let me see if I get this straight. It sounds like you are saying you uninstalled this piece of software from the old hp and installed it on the Dell. Just a guess...sounds like a possible hardware prob with the monitor connected to the hp. Might try connecting another monitor to the hp for a test and see what you get. Best of luck.
