So we have redone the kitchen design for the 3rd time now. Only thing left to really decide on is the kitchen sink. We were having one custom made by the cabinet place but went in search of a FarmHouse sink for a different look. Liked the granite sinks but wasn't crazy about the maintenance on them... Finally my wife finds this sink she likes , it's copper, looks nice.

IT COST TWO FREAKING GRAND!!!

Are you SURE you want to copper Blues? Not only obscenely priced, but copper is soft. It will scratch & gouge a lot easier than stainless steel does. It will likely get the "OLD" farmhouse look pretty quickly.

@G.T. - you mean I actually have a say in this process?

@Ace - I like the granite one as well, just dont want to do the maintenance on it.

There is a granite composite sink I am trying to get her to consider. Its only 500 bucks

Yeppers, Cambria countertops and maple cabs. Keeping the same appliances though since they aren't that old.

I bet your kitchen is going to look wonderful when finished!
I'd be interested in seeing photos here if you feel like
    sharing when it is finished.

My thought is that perhaps you can convince your wife
to go with the 500 dollar sink and you can use the 1500 dollars
elsewhere in the room. Perhaps high quality flooring or something
    like that?

Heh, I have to put the flooring in myself, right after I finish replacing the 8ft sliding glass door and the window in the kitchen. Its going to look great Im sure. The countertops now are white 3x3 tiles with brown grout and oakish looking cabinets.

What will replace the 8 ft. sliding glass door? French doors?
What kind of floor are you going to install?

I don't mean to be nosy. I like home decorating projects
and when I saw your post I was interested in hearing
    all about your project.

    You're not being nosey :D

I put french doors in place of the 5ft slider in our bedroom last week. I think I am just going to put another slider in where the 8ft is. The kids go in and out of that door constantly so I think a slider would work best there.

As for flooring I have Maple glueless laminate flooring for most of the house. I am thinking of using some kind of 12" or 16" Italian tile to match whatever we end up with in the kitchen. Would be a nice contrast between everything when its done.

If you have any tile laying tips you would like to pass along, they are more than welcome lol. I can do woodworking ok, but never ever done any tilework.
