Just checked on my production to see where I am.
    Shows at 998 WU.
Last was at 12/28 at 3AM.
    But 9 points.
Do they take it as a freebie or what?
How can a WU be 0 points?

Hey hrlow2, can you post a portion of your log file where that WU ended?
May have some information in it.

Copy and paste from the file using code tags makes it easier to read here.

Have 3 machines going and not sure which it was.

You should be able to back-track on the timing and estimate which one finished the WU. Or put all 3 partial logs in here.

I've seen it too but never experienced it. I suspect it could be due to failed WU's but I'm not sure. Bill had a long fight with that and finally solved it though I can't recall what he did. I hope he pops in here.

I had 5 WUs that failed the other night, kinda put it down to server issues over the holidays, dunno if they get resent or not and within the timeframe for completion.

All seem to be going today ok, so far.

Did they complete and not register any points or did you get an error code before completion?
I ran across some GPU WUs awhile back that failed but did not throw an EUE notification/Unstable Machine. If you get one of those, your machine will be timed out for 24 hours by the Stanford servers.

    Hi lbmest

As far as I know they completed ok, wasnt watching and they where GPU units, but noticed a CPU one today that just halted at 89% with no errors, then the following WU was sent ok.

Just to clarify a bit here, Stanford will resend a failed WU two or three times and on the third failure then it will stop sending for 24 hrs. or you clean out your workfiles, unitinfo and queue to immediately grab a new and different WU. This usually happens with inherently bad WUs or from a too high of an overclock.

Hi. Stumbled across this topic and joined the effort. I had no idea and I'm sure there are plenty of others who haven't heard of this, can we spread the word around teh board again for newbies or others who never visit here?

    Just a few questions.
Can I load several computers with this and run them all under my name? I have two servers that I have to leave on the network right now but are not doing much at all for a while.

What happened to the senior site members? Some haven't contributed in 3 years? Did something go wrong or just lost interest?

    Hi

How do you mean spread it around the forum? as we have a forum area heading and that should suffice.

Yes you can run several PC with F@H and all you need to do with your original user name is add that to the 2nd PC and from the dropdown in the Configure menu add your same user name to the User name box, then choose Advanced tab and at the bottom is Machine ID and choose 2 for the second PC then 3 for the third and som on and add in User tab the team reference of 12072 for Majorgeeks

It is also advisable to get a passkey HERE so that your account is better ID'd.

If you do not actually own this equipment, you need to have corporate permission to run this program. You would be costing the company $$$ in use of computer resources, energy resources and if someone sees an unknown process running, flags could go up in a big way.

Please see your immediate supervisor and/or his supervisor before installing this application. (There have been jobs lost because of this even with signed permissions/authorizations.)

As many computers as you have will be welcomed!:) Can you please post the specs of all your computers? Mainly CPU/GPU is needed to tailor a custom plan for you as there are various options to be had.

As to the seniors, people come and they go for whatever reason. Perhaps this forum does need a bit of 'dusting', David?:-D

Welcome to folding handygal and thanks for your contributions.:cool

I agree with you and will do what you feel is needed to clean this area up, sadly I just dont personally have the spare time to write any guides for F@H or basically have the knowledge of you and others in this matter, but if you can cobble together if you have the time the info from the stickies that we need to keep/update or delete I can do that.

Maybe cut and paste the relevent info into a Word or Notepad doc or create yourself a new thread with a beginners guide, maybe a seperate heavy users guide to the GPU and SMP folding and I will make them stickies.

Think you still have my email address

It reminds me that I was going to post a guide here but never did.:-o Folding has changed so much in the past year and will change again in the near future, simplifying things for the end user.
