Having installed a new system HDD, each time on startup I get, NEW PCI DEVICE FOUND (12 to 16 times) and NEW SCSI DEVICE FOUND (4 to5 times). I have to cancel each notification individually before I can use the computer for my work. It's very time consuming and frustrating.

I have 2 HDDs, 2 CDs, 2 SATA DVDs, and a PCI-Express video Card, SB Sound Board- That's all. The MB is a K8NNeo4 series. CPU is an AMD64-4000. This computer ran for a year without problems like that above until I replaced my system drive.

There must be something in Windows XP Pro that directs the installing of device drivers for new devices. It should not try to install drivers for devices not mounted in the computer.

Can one of you help me out? (Yes, I know where the door is.)

This not a malware issue and as such I'm moving it to the Hardware Forum which is more appropriate.
