One day it just didn't boot

This is quite unbelievable. In the morning I used my older computer to print some stuff and when I tried to use it in the evening again for the same purpose, it just didn't boot. Nothing happens when I press the button. I opened the case and when the computer is plugged in, all you can see is a small blinking red light. I checked the wire going to motherboard from the boot button, but it should be fine. The computer isn't ancient, and it has been upgraded.

The only explanation I can think of was a thunderstorm yesterday, but I plugged out all the computers just in case (because I live in the countryside and all our wires go on top of high poles.)

At least, post the make & model of the pc.

Yup, unplug the power cord for an hour. Look at the user's manual for how to clear cmos. Usually, take out the battery on the motherboard & short 2 pins near the battery socket. i.e.

If the 1 & 2 pins are shorted, move the cap to 2 & 3 pins for 1 min. After, put battery back in, hook up power cord, hit power button. What do you see?

It's a custom built PC, but I had a hardware expert friend of mine look at it today.. Apparently the PSU had broken because of some undefined reason, sending a power spike to everything it's connected to. MB and graphs card broke because of that spike. Oh well, that computer wasn't essential anyways.

Thanks for the answer, thou :)
