One more Win98 qoestion please

As per my previous post I got the CDRom working and windows loaded ok.
Now though, if I do a Shut Down/Restart I hang at the Windows98 logo screen and have to do a hard shutdown which brings me to the safe mode prompt when I turn it back on.
If I click Shut Down/Shut Down everything comes up fine.
It's a Pll 266 with 128 ram running win98 SE.
Just installed a used hard drive that tested ok.
Any ideas on this one?

Yeah Snakefoot...great site you found. I was just going over it and since it's a fresh install of 98SE I think I'll let my son in law get all the patches and updates before we try anything else.
