after crashing and redoing, here are the facts.Computer began acting erratic (all files opened in .exe,IE not responding, hanging, list goes on) IMMEDIATELY after downloading the latest Microsoft security KB files.KB252 somethings)After hours of trying to correct,I finally contacted Microsoft (Mr.Fixit and all other 'fixes',inc all recommended programs(Malwarebytes etc. were corrupted). The expert tech spent almost 7 hours non-stop with me via remote. He was unable to find-ONLY HE VERIFIED,after uploading my files-the LAST 2 KB downloads were infected with worm worse than WISE.He notified Microsoft security. No fix as of yet. I do NOT think this is a wild warning, but a careful precaution to ALL out there.I saw some of your recent posts and I had to wonder:is this that worm? I know what happened to me.I have the verifiable Microsoft expert security tech.Go thru Microsoft safety security Tech Joel Saldanis and contact him.No charge. My name is Barbara and he will remember the problem! He finally advised me to crash and redo with original disks, which I did.I am not an alarmist, but a warning is due in this case.Thank you all for your help here!

You did not provide the specific update number that you arre saying is infected. Also you did not say for which Windows versions.

I have not seen any problems with any recent updates. And since you are saying you had other programs on your PC infected or corrupted, it is very possible that the problem was not in the updates but rather in the fact that your PC already had an infection and it was corrupting or infecting all new downloads and executables. You could have had a PE file infector like Virut, Sality, Ramnit....etc.

THANK YOU kindly. On some other sites few also had same complaint & saw a similar pattern: after microsoft latest download (They targeted the 7/13 release specifically/remote hijacking protection-I know that was one-other was,I think 7/11 or 10):same problem they encountered. All used KIS 2012/Cloud Beta? I did also. What I wrote was 110% truthful.Horrid day for me.After total crash and recovery with original discs-all is fine. Here is a great plus for MG-The Microsoft tech said Thank God for people like you.Microsoft would never get corrections etc without your help!!!I agree a bezillion times over.Something "flukey" happened to a few of us who tied in a certain download..BUT-it could very well be flaw in KIS12Beta.AND,coincidental,not incidental to Microsoft. Glad all is ok now,but still wondering what happened as things were fine up until that point.

APPRECIATE the very fine assistance of MG professionals (and the community for posting 'things')!

I still cannot really comment as you still did not say exactly which updates that you are referring to. All updates have numbers. Like KB numbers. I don't know of any infected updates personally and I have several dozen PCs that have all updates applied and they have no problems.

If your problem is some how related to a conflict with Kaspersky, that still does not make it an infection but rather a potential software conflict.

I also cannot comment on what the Microsoft Tech you mentioned found or did not find since there are no specific details posted that give enough information to comment on. I'm not saying you did not have a problem. I'm just saying that I cannot comment on it since there is no info provided that can be commented on.
