Hey all, first post and I am as frustrated as I can be so hopefully someone has an idea.

I have one website I own and maintain that all of a sudden loads really slow on my developer machine, in all browsers (FF, Chrome, IE 8 & Safari).

It started the other day when there was a legitimate problem, there was a fiber line down between Chicago and Michigan (where the site is hosted). I was seeing major timeouts in a tracert and my hosting company confirmed the issue. I was adding data to the site on one of it's form during this mess.

Since then it takes 30-40 seconds to load any page on this site in any browser. Other sites I own or manage on the same server load normally. I have also tested the site on other machines here and there are no issues.

The only difference between the other sites on the server and this one is that this one has a dedicated ip address.

I have searched and tried everything including flushing the DNS, reseting the winsock catalog, reset the internet protocol. I have run Malware bytes and it reports no issues found. I have also disabled my anti-virus and that did nothing to fix the problem.

The machine is a Windows XP box BTW.

the site is amgoa.org, tracerts and pings from here show no issues whatsoever .... I am totally stumped and I HAVE to get my work done on this site before the 1st of the year but working like this is just painful.

Hope someone has a brilliant idea because I am fresh out.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

One thing I forgot to mention in the OP is that I did also load Windows in safe mode with networking and the site loads like a rocket, so it appears it is definitely something in the 'normal' Windows loading that is causing it.

    Hello,

Have you tried cleaning the temporary files and browser cache folders? CCleaner is a free excellent program and does this very well.

Have you tried turning off any firewalls?

Yup, did all of that - nothing changed
