OneNote alternatives for Ubuntu 9.04

I have ubuntu 9.04, and I was wondering, are there any apps closer to the likes of onenote than BasKets for KDE. BasKets doesn't run quite as quickly as I want it to. And, I would like something that looks a little nicer and has subscript and superscript support. Something good for a college student to organize his notes with. Help is appreciated, as always.

The Ubuntu desktop comes preloaded with a fantastic note-taking application called Tomboy. Tomboy is a desktop note-taking application for Linux and Unix. Simple and easy to use, but with potential to help you organize the ideas and information you deal with every day.
While the application can be easily accessed from the desktop Applications menu (under the Accessories sub-menu), it can me cumbersome to have to remember to launch this application each time a desktop session is started.
Fortunately, the tomboy application can be added to the desktop panel in a convenient form. Just right click on an empty area of the panel, and choose Add To Panel. In the resulting window, under the Accessories section, find and double click the Tomboy Notes. Now you should have a little notepad icon in your desktop panel. Click on this icon to access all your notes instantly, or to create new notes.
Using this method will also ensure that the Tomboy application gets added to your panel on every startup, ensuring that you'll always have quick access to your notes.

with all due respect, tomboy is nothing like OneNote. Tomboy kinda sucks. I like that notebook feel to OneNote. where as tomboy is more like a page bogged down with sticky notes. Anyway, I don't mind BasKets hierarchical way of organizing my notes, but if there is anything more like onenote, or anything better that BasKets, any help would be appreciated.
