Phil Driscoll has a concert online from a Church service. The link is below the tv screen on:

Is there a way to save that to my computer as a .wmv, mp4 or anything manageable? I used to read of doing things like looking for a certain file extension in some folder after playing it, but can't figure it out. Any help appreciated.

Updating this request, I located a .asx file in my temp internet files and saved to my hard drive. Seems I can click on that and it launches windows media player and plays the file. Is there a way to save a permanent video file so that I'll have it long after this Church no longer hosts it?

After it is done playing, have you tried clicking File/save as in Media player? Give it a name and a location where you want it.

.ASX files are actually simply directors (files that direct you to another file).
Using streaming video like this is often a way to ensure that you don't copy the content. (Copyrighted material)
Although it is not impossible to extract original video file, it is a questionable practice, if not downright illegal.
I feel uncomfortable using this forum to help you in doing this.
If you contact the church via email, they might give you access to the video.
    Sorry.

This particular Church cannot be reached by phone or email, no response. Other Churches Phil has performed have made DVD's available of his ministry. I don't know of any copyright issue, believe it to just be a Church service. Any help on or off the forum would be appreciated. Mark

I'm beginning to remember something I knew some time ago. There is something about the url for the .wmv being embedded within or could be found within the properties of the .asx file, and with that one can save a .wmv. Can anyone give me that extra push on how to find that .wmv url?
