Online Grief (C.O.D)

Hi all.
Having a few problems logging on to Call of Duty multiplayer.
I have the v1.3 patch installed plus a no cd patch.
I get a big yellow 'Awaiting cd key authorization' message going on forever.
I have looked at xp firewall, that is set to allow cod through.
I am also using a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router. Could this be the culprit?
I go to the applications and gaming section and see a port range table.
I can't see a help page and don't know how to set it up.
I need to know what to put (exactly) in the application section,
the start to endsection, the protocol section and I take it the ip address section has my own ip in it?
Well now i've confused myself!!!

 

Current COD patch is 1.51.

Thanks for the first bit, I knew about the latest patch but believe there to be issues with it, maybe i'm wrong.

As for the second bit??
Nope, you've lost me there?

As long as you own the original you can
A. Make a legal back up of the game
B. Use a no cd patch.
Both of these methods stop the original cd from being scratched and rendered unusable.
Most people that I know use no cd patches.
I understand peoples differing views on these things but I am not asking anyone for a patch.
