"Open File.." dialogue box sort preference doesn't 'stick'

    Whenever theres a "open file" dialog box and I am browsing the files on my desktop, they are sorted by date instead of by name. I'll arrange the icons by name, but it doesnt want to "stick". Any help? I'm using WinXP Pro SP2
