    Hey guys,

I've been having this problem for quite some time now and I don't know what's causing it. It seems to be Windows Media Player though.

Open MG, which I found is something for Sony? Will randomly flash up and ask me to install it. Following it through leads to a root page where I have to find the required files; which of course I don't have. If I click cancel however, I have to go through and cancel it 3 more times until it stops popping up, and if I'm in Media Player it'll just do it more, so I usually leave it until I've finished watching whatever I am doing and then close them all.

    ---

Whenever I go into folders that have TV episodes or movies in, I get an illegal operation error and the folder must be closed. This never used to happen before; whilst the folder is still fully functioning I can still use it so long as I just drag the error window away from my working space.

I had the theory it could be because what's in the folder is too big for my PC to be recognising all at once, and so it just crashes the folder, but I doubt it.

    ---

Can anyone offer any help to either of these programs?

I need Open MG to bugger off, and the folder error.

    Cheers

    1. Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility here, http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459 that should stop the installer from popping up.

    2. You can try one of two things:

Check your codecs by going to your control panel, then sounds and audio devices, next click the hardware tab and select video codecs and properties. Check through them one by one. If you have Divx 6.0, that could be some of the problem. If there is an updated version try that or go back to Divx 5.2.1

    OR

If you don't use preview that much open a command window (Start > Run, type in cmd hit enter)
To remove media preview, type regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll and hit enter. That should stop the crashes.

NOTE: But, like I mentioned before, this will disable your preview feature, so if you use it alot I would try the first suggestion.

    Let us know.
