    Hi

I upgraded my Lynksys router to DD-WRT. Now I am unable to login to a program I use. I was told to open ports 80, 1111, and 1935 in my router. I have checked on the net, but the instructions vary. Do I use single port forwarding, port triggering, port range or QoS? I also want to double check that I enter my ip as per ipconfig in DOS. I have a static ip from my ISP.

    Any help would be appreciated.

P.S I did try disabling my router firewall, but that didn't help. I want to use the LAN connection on my laptop as the program does not support wireless. I have a satelite connection

Like that.. my PC has an internal static IP of 192.168.1.100, so from the net I want to PCanywhere to it so I setup the ports accordingly.
This is a new Buffalo router with DD-WRT installed. You'll want to static your local IP, so the PC doesn't 'move' from the IP your putting in the router.

    Hi

Thanks for your reply and the pic. I have done it, and all ports are working when I check them with PFPortChecker by portforward, except TCP port 80. It is giving me the following message

: Could not check port 80 because some other application has that port locked. I have no other programs running, and I have the router set to use port 8080.

Port 80 is 'the web' or http port, IE, firefox? But the router should let you point it to another IP, but that should only be necessary if your running a webserver and want http request sent to the host. Port 80 is open all the time. So that may not even be a factor, forwarding ports 1111 & 1935 should be it.

    Hi

Thanks very much for your help and explanations on port 80. I have never played with the ports, and was a bit confused about port 80. I am all set to go then!

Thanks for taking the time to help:cool
