OpenOffice, installer corrupt error

I was trying to install OpenOffice, downloaded the file and received an error on Vista laptop "Installer Corrupt" think it was "program installer corrupt" re get a new file...but it was that program specific.

Re-downloaded and tried to install on XP desktop, same message. Tried a different download from another site "don't toss anything at me" same msg. So it's not the download its something I'm doing wrong. Yep I'm the one using all the bandwidth

Only thought is it's because of the file size, I have DSL, still takes 40 min. Do I need to install a downloading program? I usually just buy large programs. Any suggestions would help, I'm lost here. Thank you.

p.s. windows installer is working fine.

Hi Cat

Yes do try with a download manager to get this file and this is the manager I always use http://www.majorgeeks.com/FlashGet_d461.html ( note the new versions of which that download I linked to is NOT ad supported as the makers of this app removed ad support last year )

Do you do folding on those PCs, if so stop them while you download, shouldnt have an effect on a download but you never know.

Me again, it's something to do with my connection. Starts out fine then gets to about 88% hangs, then completes the download but with a corruption. After three tries I got FlashGet w/o a corruption, maybe that will help with the lag or whatever my ISP is doing at the moment.
