If I try to reload the OS I get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. I know it's the HD because if I change the HD I can then get the OS to load.
Could someone tell me how I can or where I can send the hard drive to get photos off.

    Thanks.

Both ide. The one that will not work is the original. It has Window ME when it did run.

If you connect the faulty hard drive as a slave to the good one, you can right click my computer, click manage, click disk management, click on the second hard drive, click explore, and if the drive is still working, although you cant get windows to load, you can copy your stuff from there to the other drive.
If you can see it in the management consol, its not dead - if you cannot see it, on startup press del, or f2, to get into the Bios, - if it shows in the bios, it is usually possible to fix it.
If you try it in the management consol, as I explained, you can also right click the drive, click properties, click tools, click error checking, and tick both check boxes, and it will run the checks.
