today i had a problem with my computer. I turned it on ran ad aware
and it said that not all items could be removed and it would remove them upon restart. when i went to restart, my computer would not log on. it took me to the user log on screen and then would just say logging off, saving your settings. i found the only way to avoid this was too reinstall windows but, do this so i can keep everything. now i have two versions of xp pro.
installed and i have to choose from one of them everytime i start up
my computer. is there any way to uninstall one version of xp without
doing a format? if you know anything about this gimme a shout.

Maybe before installing windows you should have tried 'last known good configuration'. That should have replaced what adaware removed.

For getting rid of the XP you don't want boot into the one you want to keep. Open windows explorer & find the other inactive (the one you want to get rid of) install of XP. If you want to keep C then it possible could be D. You will have to check.

See if you can just format it from there.

Once done you will have to edit your boot.ini file to remove the second XP from boot up.
