I have to ask, is your disk genuine? because it sounds as though the application is corrupt.
if the disk is genuine you could try going back to your supplier and have them check it out??

if you get it working do not load it into your PC it uses a huge amount of memory it's designed to run from the disk thats why i suggest you go back to the supplier.

    Hi

On some older applications the auto-installer when you pop the CD in the drive is not Vista compatible and you generally just need to do as you did, open the CD adn run the Setup.exe manually.

As for Elevation, this is in Vista, even though you may have an Admin account it is not a full Admin account ( for security reasons ) and at times you will need to Elevate the permissions to full Admin, majority of the times you will get a popup window that will be from UAC asking you to confirm this elevation, but at times you may not so the easy way is to right click the applications file and choose "run as Administrator" you can also set this perminently for the application if it needs it by right clicking the application and choosing properties > compatability tab and then tick the box at bottom entitled "run this Program as an Administrator"

So to recap if you see a notice 'The requested operation requires elevation' then easy option is right click the file and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Some may tell you to turn off UAC, but my advice is dont as you will loose a valuable security option, and you will get used to the UAC alerts.
