Hey all i'm getting a custom built p.c and I have the options of a geforce 6600and a geforce 7300LE , which one should i get? the 7300 cost about £5 more than the 6600. I will be playing games such as warcraft and other rts games.
I used a graphics card comparison website, and it seems in some parts 6600 is better and in other parts the 7300LE is better , so which one would you chose?

Geforce 6600 pci-e stats for it are:
    -
    Manufacturer: nVidia
    Series: GeForce 6
    GPU: NV43
    Release Date: 2004-08-12
    Interface: PCI-E x16
    Core Clock: 300 MHz
Memory Clock: 275 MHz (550 DDR)
    Memory Bandwidth: 8.8 GB/sec
    Shader Operations: 2400 Operations/sec
    Pixel Fill Rate: 1200 MPixels/sec
    Texture Fill Rate: 2400 MTexels/sec
    Vertex Operations: 225 MVertices/sec
    -

My other option is a geforce 7300LE pci-e , the stats for that are:
    -
    Manufacturer: nVidia
    Series: GeForce 7
    GPU: G72
    Release Date: 2006-03-22
    Interface: PCI-E x16
    Core Clock: 450 MHz
Memory Clock: 350 MHz (700 DDR)
    Memory Bandwidth: 5.6 GB/sec
    Shader Operations: 1800 Operations/sec
    Pixel Fill Rate: 900 MPixels/sec
    Texture Fill Rate: 1800 MTexels/sec
    Vertex Operations: 337.5 MVertices/sec

Oh sorry I forgot to add , I like the look of the Geforce 5950 Ultra... On the graphics card comparison it looks very nice better than both of these. But I heard you cannot get geforce 5950 ultra on pci-e , someone told me it's only for AGP. Is this true. And if they are avaliable on pci-e how much would I be paying for one?

Actually leave the 5950, how much would a 6800GS cost?

Question. You gaming mainly? If so, this is a wait situation if possible. DirectX10 is coming and most cards should drop in price after as well as offer some new sweet cards. Im about picking the time to jump in whenever it is right, so how important are graphics?

Also, AGP cards are fading, so PCI-E for future upgrades is smart. A year from now finding an AGP card will be like finding a PCI card now.

Of course, your shopping lower end cards basically, but the 7300LE pci-e seems to have higher clock speeds, if they both have the same memory, I would lean towards that. Video games are all about video and system memory. I see the 7300LE pci-e does come in a 128 meg version, so this is a factor if the 7300LE pci-e is 128 megs, though faster clock speeds might help .I have bought BFG repeatedly, they sell safe, overclocked cards at good prices, see if any of their cards is in your price range. So, be sure to compare memory vs. clock speeds.
