Opinions on a phone/pda

Okay, I'm upgrading me phone (im on contract, see) and I'm thinking about getting a Handspring Treo 600. It seems like a great phone to me, on screen dialing, speakerphone, full QWERTY keyboard, camera and a full colour screen.

What does everyone else thing? Should I go for it or should I get a more traditional camera phone?

I use a PDA extensively in my job - reference materials, drug info, lab tests etc. It does not have a cell phone, but I considered the Treo. I do not care for cell phones, but I love my PDA.

 

i was looking into getting a pocket pc once, you might want to check those out. they have a lot of cool features.

Ya but thats not the point. I want a phone, which can do cool stuff. And from orange thats the only pda/phone you can get right now. I've read some reviews and it seems pretty good. The camera does have some odd blue noise issues but I don't care that much

Mmm, i think the coolest thing with this would be to get a wireless handsfree set for the SDIO slot so I can use it as an "office phone" on my desk, and type at the same time. Would be invaluble for support issues (with websites).

However, I broke my last PDA by walking into a wall and borking the screen completley. I'll have to get some protection for the screen and a cover for it, then.

I don't like flippy phones much.... they usually don't feel very solid.

This will cost me just £50!! Doesnt contract rock?

 

Goldie,, don't know the conversion to US but is a good pda/phone ,,,and concidering your limitation due to contract ,,,seems like you have no choice LOL. ..and PS when walking ,,,Wear your glasses,,,,and look out for walls,,,LOL they have this habbit of jumping out in front of you

Hmm! I ordered it! It's coming on wednesday. I'll be able to picture message and email and browse the net, woo! Now I just need a case, a cradle, screen protector and a Rapid charger.

That would be interesting. They're designing personal networks (so all your devices are networked around your body) bringing the office into your personal space, so why not take that further and take the whole staff canteen into it as well? Improves productivity
