Opinions on download accelerators for broadband?

Does anyone use a download accelerator for broadband?

I have a dish through wildblue and download speed can vary widely.
Any software that works well with broadband?

Hi

Yes I do and its more not for the speed as my braodband is good, but for stacking up multiple downloads and leaving them to download in order, this also allows you to resume them in case the connection to server goes offline.

I use this Java based one, JDownloader as its always being updated so a current application.

I use a down loader for the exact same reason as Halo, i have highspeed broadband but sometimes the file drops out and i can always re-start it without having to download from the beginning.

Your broadband ISP controls the speed - that's why there are different prices for different speeds. I'm not sure an accelerator would work on broadband.

Internet Download Accelerators let you increase the speed of file download from the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP protocols. The acceleration is achieved by splitting a file being downloaded into several parts and downloading these parts at the same time. Internet Download Accelerator resumes broken downloads from where they left off from both HTTP, HTTPS and FTP servers.

As for broadband speed it can not accelerate that!
