I'm going to be building this in the near future and am trying to get the best performance I can without overshooting the 2500 mark. I just havent decided on what CPU HSF is best. I'm hoping this system will last me a good while for gaming.

Off hand, the only thing I'd suggest:
    * A UPS (Belkins are nice).
    * I'm assuming you're migrating a HDD to this one for storage purposes. 2x 74GB wouldn't be enough for me. :)
    * I would also probably get a 9800XT over a X800, but as I've said elsewhere I don't like the first run of new generation tech.

Compare the burn speeds on the dvd burner vs. the cd burner.

I still primarly burn to CD, not DVD.

*Got an APC UPS already :)

*The Raptors are for the OS; I'm going to be adding a removable hard drive bay and a 200gb drive at a later time :D

*I considered the XT, but the price difference wasn't that much at all.

I wanted to go AMD 64, but the CPU I wanted (AMD 64 3500+, Socket 939) was twice the price as the P4E.

I also want two drives, so it makes more sense to have two drives that have utility, instead of one being a plain reader.

And also DVD drives make more errors on the CDs, which violate Red Book standards, so audio Cds wont play on some drives :)
